K sorry these few days really damn busy. Will update more about my work on the wkends. And my Genting photos are uploaded already but I havent had time to type out that entry yet haha. By this Sat night I will ok... patience. I really will. I promise. Haha these few days too many things to settle.
Wah i'm damn tired. Feel like there's not enuf time for everything. Got BS snr camp, BS FOC, work work work, attachment, tuition... its the holidays and I got not enuf time for everything. What the hell is going on! Friends are asking me out everyday but I cant go. TMD!
K i need to go sleep liao. Will upload my travel diary tmr. The pics are up already but cant upload to blogger. ARGHHH k nvm. Too tired to wrestle with the computer. NITE
But never mind step by step. Let me tell you about my trip. K actually right, I went Genting lah. Not really KL. But Genting sounds so boring right.. and I've never really been to KL.. only once.. and that time the Petronas twin towers were not built yet so yeah.. the landmark of KL not there i go oso not counted. Anyway I DID go KL just that I stayed in a Genting hotel. But y am I debating this here...
K my point is, most of my days in Genting I spent in the hotel room watching soccer. Idiot. Cos only the first night I managed to get past the security to enter the casino. And even then I really didnt understand the attraction the casino holds for some. Still dont. But in any case... Genting isnt really a place for me la. Nothing fun. KL much more fun lor! But that is meant for my next entry. Hehe. Cos I havent uploaded the pics yet. Then lazy to upload tonite oso. Jus reached home lor.. damn tired.
But hor in any case.. I am gonna talk abt WC here. Damnit I very angry sia. Super. Cos I was stuck in the hotel room most of the time, I thot well.. I might as well watch WC cos cannot watch in Sg. So first nite I watched erm.. the USA VS Italy match and 2nd nite I watched Saudi and Spain. Saudi's GK was damn good! That's how a good GK can complement a lousy team.
Anyway the match I'm gonna talk abt is the Korea VS Switzerland match. Korea was my fav team back from the '02 WC. When they made history by getting into the top 4 teams. They were pretty good so far.. and everybody thot it was not gonna be a problem for them to get into top 16. Top 16 only. Not like Switzerland was like a fantastic and super hard to beat team like Brazil. I specially went to the rip-off convenience store in Genting to get Tiger beer and peanuts so I could watch the match like a kopitiam uncle. No la haha I went to get coffee and snacks to keep me awake for the 2.45am match. 妈的! I specially woke up at 2.45am on a HOLIDAY to watch the match and they LOST?!!!!! WAH KAOZ!
I gotta say, the Swiss were not that good la. The deciding factor for this match was the GKs. For other matches I dunno but for this match it was the GKs. Koreans had a higher percentage of ball possession.. how the hell issit possible the Swiss got 2 goals and the Koreans NONE?! Cos of the GKs!!! The Swiss had a fantastic GK. That's undeniable. He made many fantastic saves.
And that is more than what I can say for the Korean GK. WAH BIANG he was my IDOL back in 2002 WC la!!!! TMD! Last WC he made so many fantastic saves.. the most famous one being the one and only save in the deciding match between Italy and Korea with the 5 free kicks. WHAT HAPPENED!! If I remember correctly he should be in his thirties alreadie. Old already then let some youngsters take over the job can!!!!!??? Wah the more I think the more angry I become. The first goal still ok. The 2nd goal?!!!
Ok let's talk about the 2nd goal first. In the Korean-Swiss match. WAH KAOZ any way I look at the blardie goal it is an OFFSIDE lor!!!!! The ball was passed to the Swiss footballer when he was IN FRONT of ALL the Korean players! The camera could prove it! DAMN REFEREE!!! But in any case, that is NO EXCUSE for ANY GK to leave a WIDE GAPING hole in front of the goal INVITING the opposite team to score la!!!! WAH LAU EH!!!! After I saw that really feel like punching the GK. CMI AH!! Wat happened to my idol in 2002 WC!!!!
Another player who disappointed me was Lee Chun Soo. That young player used to be one of the most promising up-and-coming players in the 2002 WC. If I rmr correctly he was player of the match for some match or something. But wat happen this time round!!!! Whichever way I look at it, he was too eager to perform!!! Whenever he has the ball and he's near the goal post, he will try to score. Doesnt matter that there are zillions of Swiss players in front of him and that his teammate nearby would have a much higher chance of scoring. He will die die want to score. And WAH BIANG his aiming is ATROCIOUS!! Of his many goal attempts only 1 or 2 needed to be saved by the GK! WAH really feel like killing him.
And then there was oso the idiot coach. Ahn Jung Hwan was my HERO from the 2002 WC. The best there is. WHY WASN'T HE IN THE LINEUP!!! He was only substituted in like... halfway thru the 2nd half. And even then, in the short time that he was in, he already made 2 fantastic goal attempts. The kind that the GK had to make a good save in order to prevent him from scoring. If he were in the initial lineup there would have been a great difference in the score!!!!
But hor if the GK is still that lousy Korean GK then I guess Korea soccer team is headed for doom.
I love music. But I'm not what they call 音乐人 cos I cant achieve that.
Its stressful to have to perform live. Especially in a band. The coordination and chemistry and rapport is very important. If one member does something wrong, the rest go down with him. No matter how well the rest may be. There is no replay, no NG. One take is all that is allowed.
As I put in my MSN nick.. 人真的不可以犯错. 所谓一失足成千古恨... Every week Qinobe were one of the better scoring teams. Everyone expected them to make it thru to the end. But this week, something went wrong. Maybe its the choice of the song. The lead singer couldnt bring it thru well. His voice was not made to sing that kinda song. Too high-pitched for him. The rest of the band members could not play that song well. The arrangement was not much different from the original version, but while playing it the coordination wasnt tight enough. So overall it was obvious the performance wasnt good today.
Generally, the performance wasnt good throughout. For 迷路兵, there was a part where the amplifier had some feedback problem.. and after that the performance seemed to be affected adversely. So maybe there was a general problem with the sound system today. Anyway I still feel another band should be out rather than Qinobe. They were performing worse than Qinobe all the way.. even today. But well.. anywayz. Think they will be out next week. Sorry QQ tho the percussionist is your fren... i really think they are gonna be the next ones out.
Brods are performing better and better. Think gotta rethink my stand on them. They just might pull it off to be in the top 3.
Lucify too. Exciting to think that a visual rock band might emerge being the top in a Singaporean band competition!!!
Oh anyway.. got something exciting to tell u pple!!!! OK this one right.. appeals more to the Scientist in me. HAHA I told you all i was given an attachment right? Now i've gotten another one! Both are at Biopolis, but the 2nd one is MUCH MUCH better! Cos for the 2nd one.. the scientist I'm working with is the one who came up with HUMULIN!!! OMGOMGOMG!!!! One of those in the team anyway. Used to work at Eli Lilly and Genentech!!! OMGOMGOMG faint!
Anyway to show the polarity between scientists and engineers.. haha when I told Poff this news, she was like, "OMG SO EXCITING!!" And then Jing was the exact opposite, "Oh.. ok lor good for you." Wah a bit hurt sia. OUCH can pretend to be more excited??
And then hor.. why I say the 2nd one is GOOD?! Not jus cos of the Principle Investigator (PI). It's the ATTITUDE they treat their IA students. The first one, he accepted me and was pretty nice and all.. like in the email.. very polite and all. But after the first email he only left his secretary to contact me. And he was gonna put me under this PhD student under him. So i'm gonna be like.. under someone under him... and like basically nonexistent.
The 2nd one, the IDIOT secretary was damn lazy. Take her own sweet time. The PI already told her abt me long ago and she took TWO WEEKS to email me. And that was AFTER the PI got impatient and emailed me himself, and then he asked me to email the secretary to chase after her for the paperwork.
Anyway about the 2nd one... one of the team members contacted me. Not the PI but he spoke on behalf of the PI. It was damn touching la. In the very first email, he asked me when I was available and what kinda work I would like to do. Cos this was an attachment and they were out to make it the most beneficial for me as possible, so I learn the most things and I was not juz cheap labor. And then after I replied him, he personally wrote up a schedule for my IA, with a list of things i was gonna do and learn in the time i was gonna be there. OMG! He actually took the time and trouble to do that for a useless IA student that was dangerously bordering on being more of a hindrance than help.
And the very last thing he did that made me damn touch was asking me to go down tmr... or actually today since it is already after 12am, even though my IA starts next week. NAH I'm not crazy. Like I love to do OT like that. But the reason why I'm so touched is cos... he said when I'm supposed to start work, next wk, 3 of the snr research fellows were not gonna be around. So he hoped I could go down tmr for a while so I could meet the entire team. Cos from next week onwards, we are all gonna work together, as one. We are a team! He treated a mere IA student as a TEAM! I can meet that world famous prof! OMG! I can work with him, in his team, listen to him and gain incredible amounts of knowledge from him!
I cant believe my luck.
But then again, this queer kinda excitement probably only applies to scientists. 因为我们为科研痴狂. We live for our research. =)
This one means u use some slimming gel (she used a Clarins product I think..) together with something hot (like for e.g. a hot towel... a tip is to microwave your damp towel for a minute) on your arms, then massage it, making sure u massage the inner regions of your arms as well.
Today I went shopping. I swear... GSS is evil. I am burning a hole in my pocket.. and my bank account book. But anyway...
I still bought loads of stuff! I mean.. a cropped cardigan for 10 bucks?! I noe its like.. almost out of fashion.. but well... HEY!! 10 bucks only! I was having dinner with my folks at the hawker centre at Pearl's Centre. The newly renovated one. And we went shopping upstairs. Loads of new and funky shops there now.. almost like a 2nd Far East. But hor.. the stuff there not cheap at all. I still prefer bugis village. 10 dollar skirts. YAY!
And yea.. ok.. today its official. I just got diagnosed. I've gotten a disease. It's known as the mascara fetish. Yea I'm not kidding. I've got a dozen and one mascaras and from never using them, now I almost use them everyday juz to finish them up. Cos I see the attractive ads and pretty spokeswomen and I juz cant resist the temptation.... haizzz
And today I got another one... from Canmake. Its a Jap brand. Carried only by big retail stores. A clear mascara. So wat's so great about clear mascaras!? Let me tell u a secret. Clear mascaras are the trick to prevent mascaras from running. After applying the usual mascara on, add on a coat of clear mascara. It will seal the bottom mascara layer on and prevent it from running even when we sweat. COOL RIGHT!
One of the other reasons why I'm so into mascaras is probably cos of this brand. FASIO! I probably have their entire range of mascara since they came out in Singapore a few years ago. Their first spokesperson was Fukada Kyoko. Then there was Ayumi somewhere in btwn. Now its BoA. And somehow, the mascara manages to look sooooo good on the spokeswomen... haiz...
But in any case, Fasio mascaras are truly good. They are the most waterproof mascara i've ever seen. Yea its a bit hard to remove it without fasio eye makeup remover, but then at least, it doesnt run easily. Almost never runs. I can wash my eyes with water when something gets into it... and my mascara will still be intact. Damn zai.
This is the lastest in the Fasio range of mascara. Air tech. Light weight curls. OMG!!! They really give you the cutest curly lashes ever!!! I HEART FASIO!
WOW Taiwanese are really the masters of beauty and fashion. OK maybe Japs are better.. but I cant read Jap so there... this is the next best option.
According to that webbie.. this Jap brand of mascara, Fiberwig, is even better than Fasio in terms of being waterproof and smudgeproof, prettier effects too, and easier to remove. In Singapore, only one place carries that as far as I know.. and that is Sasa.

Breakfast will be a high fibre fruit. Apple or orange will be fine. Or any other veggie if you prefer.
Lunch will be a 3:1 ratio of veggie:meat, the exact amount will depend on each individual, see when you feel full. But the meat must be only of a single kind. Not mixed. Means if you choose pork, then only pork. No beef or mutton etc.
Dinner will be a 3:1 ratio of carbohydrate:meat.
Do not consume processed food like canned food, ham, luncheon meat etc.
Sounds good? At least not torturous rite?! You wont starve! Hehe but muz have determination. Cannot do halfway stop.
Thinking back to her 《我知道你很难过》days... OMG! What happened! She used to be like.. skinny malnourished teenager! And the other day I was watching 娱乐百分百 on Channel u. There was a Jolin special. She went back to her Uni. OH MAN check out the fitting top she was wearing... and the skinny 3/4 jeans. 只能用四个字形容... "前突后翘"! Oh my gawd!! Siau Lin said the TV program said she was a friggin G cup la!!! OMG!
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!!!
Now I hang a poster of her in my bedroom right in front of where I sleep so everytime I see her I will be inspired to 减肥 and 锻练 and 保养 so I can get her figure!!!!
WAH now all the knowledge I've gained from watching all those trashy Taiwan programs like 《女人我最大》 and 《娱乐新闻》and 《娱乐百分百》 come into use! How to 练出 all those good figures!
I GOT ACCEPTED AS AN INTERN AT GIS!!! OMGOMG I can't believe my luck.. seriously... I'm gonna fire my current bosses!!! YEA!! Like, I only have slightly less than 2.5 months before I leave for Canada, and they are willing to accept me!! OMGOMG! I think I might just faint.
I just realised that whatever I do in life, I am always really lucky. The most recent things include my exchange. First, with my results I really doubted if I would get accepted into UBC as an exchange student. UBC is really a fantastic school... one of the top ranking ones in North America. I put in a lot of effort getting the paperwork done and all.. completing the matching of subjects etc.. hoping it will get thru the NTU IRO.
Only 2 students are accepted to go into UBC for exchange in the entire NTU. And I got accepted!!! I was exhilarated... started planning for my trip and all... I was lucky first time.
Then not too long ago, there was another bomb. The other girl who was accepted alongside me got rejected at the UBC side after being accepted at the NTU IRO!!!! At that time I havent gotten my reply from the UBC side yet.. I was damn stressed out. After all that hard work getting all the complicated paperwork done, I dont wanna know it was all for naught!
Finally, a wk ago, I got my reply from UBC! I was accepted!!! I was lucky twice over!!!!
Another time would be when I was looking for a job... desperately needing to finance my Vancouver trip. I need 10k. I had 4 months, but 1.5 months i would be having lessons 2 times a wk, so wkday work was near impossible. I called up zillions of agencies... desperate for a job. One fine day, an agency called!!! I was given a job to work adhoc, juz 2 days a wk!!!! At an MNC!! And its 7 bucks per hr for data entry! Super shiok!!! Really quite good for an adhoc assignment. Tho the colleague wasnt exactly kind.. but well no need to go into details. I dont believe in dwelling on the worse points of others. Anyway i'm quitting!! YAY!!
And then after that, I wanted to get an internship desperately.. cos my fac has no IA. But I only have slightly less than 2.5 months left.. almost impossible to get an internship. My frens jumped in to help. Poff helped me look under her Med profs researches and gave me their emails so I could email those I wanted to help out as an intern. Rosanne helped me find some webbies.. Astar and those Biopolis ones... so I could go find their projects and email the profs in charge. For a while, I was damn tempted to email the Sir Lane.. but after that I shy.. haha with my lousy results how to dream of helping out as an intern with Sir LANE??!
And usually.. internship u will need to apply damn early... cos takes time to process. For me, this kinda shitty last minute ass... think of wat then suddenly go do.. cant believe I still got a reply!!!! From GIS!!! OMG!!! At biopolis! My dream workplace!! And its like, less than 24 hrs after I emailed!!! I really wanted to kiss and thank my lucky stars. And you noe wats the best thing?! Actually of all those emails I sent, there is only 1 I was the most interested in... dealing with cancer research.. with the field of cancer research I was interested in. And that was the one I got accepted for!!! OMG!
I think I am a really lucky person. I used to think its cos i'm good.. or i'm resourceful. But now I noe I'm just plain lucky. I have loads of great frens who help me in whatever that i do. I guess u can ask for nothing more in life than great frens like these. And of cos! Must 多谢菩萨保佑!!

This pair was really nice.. tho I know my photography skills are not doing enough credit to it.. costs just S$8 too! But its those dress sandals with crystals on it! For my mum la.. WAH DAMN CHEAP!
Oh the next object is not from Thailand.. this bag was given to me by my aunt!! An authentic LV black monogram i dunno wat bag! Aiya actually hor I oso doubt i will have a chance to use it... so I gave it to my mum.
Oh anyway... GSS was G-R-E-A-T!!! OMGOMG! I bought stuff yesterday and today... loads and loads!! I really din plan on buying. I was like, running an errand.. out with my mum doing impt stuff like trying to open a bank acct in HSBC to facilitate my funds in Vancouver. And then by some magic, we passed by some shops with the prettiest clothes undergoing the craziest discounts!!! And then today, I walked past the flea market beside Cine.. and bought TONS of things again!!! OMG I cant even start trying to keep track of the stuff I bought.. let me try... 1 top, 2 tops, nono.. 3 tops.. 1 army print 3/4 pants... a pair of pretty open-toe heels... ear rings.... a pretty lacy belt.. chain.. erm... lesportsac bags.. AHHH I CANT RECALL!!!!! Think I'm going crazy!!!
K I better stop.. just had a great BBQ cum catching up session with my beloved family, a sendoff for my airforce cousin going to France for training for a yr at least. It was held at my place.. and all the BBQing and clearing up has left me in a totally concussed and tired out state.
no la got no time. Busy trying to tie up loose ends for my exchange.. all the matching subjects and things juz sorta fell apart and i gotta rush to get things done before the impending deadline on tmr... and the hostel application one day later... DIE DIE DIE!
Am also trying to find some internship.. haiz hope someone will take me in i so ke lian. After 15th june i will be damn free lor!! take me leh!!!
YEA! Yesterday ended my stint as a promoter at the PC show!!! OMG standing for 12 hours on end for 4 days in a row is taking its toll on me. On top of that, for 2 of the days I had tuition in the morning before the show. And immediately after the show, today, I had to work the entire day plus OT. DAMN TIRING!!!! HAIZ! And tmr I have astro and tuition all the way till late at nite.. and wednesday work again. SIAN!!! But need money.. no choice.
Anyway right, saw all sorts of pple at the PC show. All in all, earned about 300+ bucks. Contrary to popular belief, i do not earn a lot of commission. Just 50cents per box sold. Unless I sell more than 16, then its 1 buck. If I sell more than 35, then its 1.50 bucks. But on the third day, i managed to be the top promoter! So I got 10 bucks extra! On the 2nd day, Jing was top promoter, so she oso got 10 bucks more!! COOL!
Ya I was talking about the pple. They are really weird. Like, almost half of Singapore's population has walked past me in the 4 days. And they expect me to remember who they are after I onli chatted with them once while promoting my product. HAIZ! Thank god this Malay guy who bought a set from me on the last day, I remember him roughly! As in, cos so many pple who look the same walk past, I cant really recall. But when he asked if I could rmr him, i racked my brain.. and I went, "Of cos! You wanted to buy ink for your fiancee rite??" BINGO RIGHT ON! He nodded!!! WAH damn heng hahahaha
So anyway, I went to work today, with a weary body. Totally reluctant. Onli the thought of the money financing me thru my exchange kept me going. But today, for the first time, I went for lunch with my colleagues!! This p-plater drove us to the airport for lunch cos there was nothing else to eat within walking distance. WAH he's not young.. but he juz got his license. And he was driving damn recklessly. In this tiny multi-storey carpark, he was going at 60kph!!! OMG! And then he went at the same speed down the spiral ramp of the carpark!! WAH i was shutting my eyes tightly the whole time. Worse than a roller coaster.
But one good thing.. there's this really cute indonesian guy at my office! When I say cute, i dont mean handsome. But rather, well, cute. He has this super cute indonesian accent!!!! I love the way he speaks! And he has this 斯斯文文 look! HEE i love it! Haha but anyway i dun usually talk at the office. Just keep quiet. The office is a scary place. Full of politics.. wat's new. But in any case I do not chat much with them abt office stuff cos i dont wanna get involved.
K now lets talk about SUPERBAND! MY FAV TOPIC!! YAYYYYY SUMMER BREEZE IS FINALLY OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT!!! I'M SOOO HAPPY!!! Haha and hor.. OMG! I cant believe the 刘德华 of Qinobe is only 19!!! OMG! He looks so composed and has such great stage presence! Cant believe it. And like, I juz realised a significant number of pple in Superband are younger than me. I AM GROWING OLD!!! DAMN!!

I saw the RG link on Tie's blog, and went to explore. OMG cant believe they even listed down the ghost stories in the school!!!! Then out of curiousity, i searched for HC, and voila! There it is!!! But it is less interesting than the RG one with all the ghosts!!! haha
First day selling stuff at PC fair... FRIGGIN TIRING! And the worst is yet to be, cos today is the first day only, and most pple are juz asking and not buying!! ARGHH!!! WASTE MY TIME! Then there are some, ask for i dunno how long, then finally buy juz 1 teeny one. Waste my time!
OH ya but something pretty exciting. My first customer was from a headhunting firm! He bought the ink from me, and was TOTALLY bowled over by my skills of persuasion!! No la haha kidding. I still dun understand y he was so interested in getting me for his firm. Especially since his firm is an MNC, pretty well established. He kept trying to get my number, or my namecard (which i obviously do not have) and when i refused, he gave me his namecard to let me contact him. Hmm should I?! I NEED A JOB DESPERATELY! Think they do have some temp offerings?! I HOPE SO! Hehe headhunting for a temp job. Weird.
Anyway, today many pple visited me! First, there was Yoke Peng!! And then later, Ting Feng and Engel came too! And Shihong!!! OH YA!! SHIHONG WAS WEARING THIS BLUE SAMSUNG JERSEY AT A PC FAIR!!! HAHAHAHA the minute i saw him, i could not recognise him. I thot he was a promoter from Samsung! Then suddenly, i thought it was weird how come this promoter kept grinning at me! LATER I FINALLY REALISED!!! HAHAHAHA wrong dressing SUPER wrong occasion!!! HAHA! Tingfeng bought a refill pack from me!! YIPPEE! Nice tudi!!! Hee!
Who else did I see? I saw a lot of pple I know working there as well! Pple from my class, my campmates etc etc. Haha!

Went the new Cathay on monday! Watched X-men with TJL and kok. That movie is LAME LA! Lame to the max. But in case any of you wanna watch shall not reveal any spoilers here. BTW if u all wan watch rite, please wait till the rolling credits are over. Got something else at the end. But anyway, I still think it is lame la.
As for the new cathay, its ok lor. Looks pretty grand. Better than Cine on the outside. The glass lifts are pretty cool too! But the rest of the bldg other than the theatres are still pretty empty. Wait till the shops open, it will be the next hip place to be. Think Cine is up for a tough competition. But actually the theatres are ok onli. Looks the same. But the legspace is increased. Loads more legspace than normal theatres!
K done. I am going back to watch my dramas!!! My fren is back from China and brought back the vcds!!! Hee hee!!! I better finish my remaining dramas quick so I can watch the new dramas!! OH and GOONG IS GONNA SHOW ON CHANNEL U SOON! OMG! Channel u is really fast! UNEXPECTED! Think even scv has yet to broadcast it yet! KEWL!
From tmr onwards, i will be working damn long hours, plus tuition. SIGH! Anyway, i need pple to come support me! HAHA come suntec k! I WILL BE SELLING PRINTER INK THERE!!! Hee hee see you guys there!!!
