World Cup Fever

I am back!!!

Wah biang I very angry.

But never mind step by step. Let me tell you about my trip. K actually right, I went Genting lah. Not really KL. But Genting sounds so boring right.. and I've never really been to KL.. only once.. and that time the Petronas twin towers were not built yet so yeah.. the landmark of KL not there i go oso not counted. Anyway I DID go KL just that I stayed in a Genting hotel. But y am I debating this here...

K my point is, most of my days in Genting I spent in the hotel room watching soccer. Idiot. Cos only the first night I managed to get past the security to enter the casino. And even then I really didnt understand the attraction the casino holds for some. Still dont. But in any case... Genting isnt really a place for me la. Nothing fun. KL much more fun lor! But that is meant for my next entry. Hehe. Cos I havent uploaded the pics yet. Then lazy to upload tonite oso. Jus reached home lor.. damn tired.

But hor in any case.. I am gonna talk abt WC here. Damnit I very angry sia. Super. Cos I was stuck in the hotel room most of the time, I thot well.. I might as well watch WC cos cannot watch in Sg. So first nite I watched erm.. the USA VS Italy match and 2nd nite I watched Saudi and Spain. Saudi's GK was damn good! That's how a good GK can complement a lousy team.

Anyway the match I'm gonna talk abt is the Korea VS Switzerland match. Korea was my fav team back from the '02 WC. When they made history by getting into the top 4 teams. They were pretty good so far.. and everybody thot it was not gonna be a problem for them to get into top 16. Top 16 only. Not like Switzerland was like a fantastic and super hard to beat team like Brazil. I specially went to the rip-off convenience store in Genting to get Tiger beer and peanuts so I could watch the match like a kopitiam uncle. No la haha I went to get coffee and snacks to keep me awake for the 2.45am match. 妈的! I specially woke up at 2.45am on a HOLIDAY to watch the match and they LOST?!!!!! WAH KAOZ!


I gotta say, the Swiss were not that good la. The deciding factor for this match was the GKs. For other matches I dunno but for this match it was the GKs. Koreans had a higher percentage of ball possession.. how the hell issit possible the Swiss got 2 goals and the Koreans NONE?! Cos of the GKs!!! The Swiss had a fantastic GK. That's undeniable. He made many fantastic saves.

And that is more than what I can say for the Korean GK. WAH BIANG he was my IDOL back in 2002 WC la!!!! TMD! Last WC he made so many fantastic saves.. the most famous one being the one and only save in the deciding match between Italy and Korea with the 5 free kicks. WHAT HAPPENED!! If I remember correctly he should be in his thirties alreadie. Old already then let some youngsters take over the job can!!!!!??? Wah the more I think the more angry I become. The first goal still ok. The 2nd goal?!!!

Ok let's talk about the 2nd goal first. In the Korean-Swiss match. WAH KAOZ any way I look at the blardie goal it is an OFFSIDE lor!!!!! The ball was passed to the Swiss footballer when he was IN FRONT of ALL the Korean players! The camera could prove it! DAMN REFEREE!!! But in any case, that is NO EXCUSE for ANY GK to leave a WIDE GAPING hole in front of the goal INVITING the opposite team to score la!!!! WAH LAU EH!!!! After I saw that really feel like punching the GK. CMI AH!! Wat happened to my idol in 2002 WC!!!!

Another player who disappointed me was Lee Chun Soo. That young player used to be one of the most promising up-and-coming players in the 2002 WC. If I rmr correctly he was player of the match for some match or something. But wat happen this time round!!!! Whichever way I look at it, he was too eager to perform!!! Whenever he has the ball and he's near the goal post, he will try to score. Doesnt matter that there are zillions of Swiss players in front of him and that his teammate nearby would have a much higher chance of scoring. He will die die want to score. And WAH BIANG his aiming is ATROCIOUS!! Of his many goal attempts only 1 or 2 needed to be saved by the GK! WAH really feel like killing him.

And then there was oso the idiot coach. Ahn Jung Hwan was my HERO from the 2002 WC. The best there is. WHY WASN'T HE IN THE LINEUP!!! He was only substituted in like... halfway thru the 2nd half. And even then, in the short time that he was in, he already made 2 fantastic goal attempts. The kind that the GK had to make a good save in order to prevent him from scoring. If he were in the initial lineup there would have been a great difference in the score!!!!

But hor if the GK is still that lousy Korean GK then I guess Korea soccer team is headed for doom.

I guess S.Korea cant live without Hiddink. HAIZ
