On tuesday, lab day, we played around with a lot of bacteria! E. Coli, some Bacillus etc etc......... and we also did a swab of our palms, before and after washing!! Ewwwwww bet you won't ever eat anything before washing your hands after you see the results of that swab. Basically we swabbed our palms and then transferred the swabs to agar plates to let the bacteria from our hands grow.

As I was looking at the results of the swab on the agar plate, suddenly the smell of the agar plate wafted to my nostrils... and I am reminded of a certain fast food meal.... hmmmm.. nutrient agar smells delicious ya know?? We have the same taste as bacteria!!! Ewwww... how does that feel...

Anyway, these days, parents are getting more and more kiasu. Just the other day I received this email from a tuition agency.. from parents who wanted tuition for their K2 kid... on P1 stuff!!! WALAU that's like HOW KIASU lar!!!!! Like wat my grandma always say.. no more 童真...

And if u think those parents were bad enough.. wait till you hear about this next one.

Yesterday I received this email.

PRIMARY 2 MATHS & SCIENCE (PREPARATION FOR A K2 STUDENT WHO HAS ALREADY MASTERED PRI 1 MATHS)

Twice a week, 1.5 hrs each
either on tue or thu night at about 7.30pm or sat noon

$140-$150/mth

Female chinese tutor only

Tutor must have excellent command of English. Able to motivate children to learn and wanting to learn. Able to create interest in the two subjects. To start with Primary school maths & sci syllabus.

Mastered P1 syllabus... going on to P2 syllabus... a K2 kid?!?!?!!!!!!!! Seriously.. makes one wonder what their parents are thinking of. Is the education system in Singapore really that scary?? The competition really that stiff???

On the other hand.. received an sms from SY just now in the afternoon telling me she had a tuition assignment teaching 2 year 1 students in NTU. (-_-'") That is HOW sia suay lar!!! Other uni students already giving tuition to other people.. you 2 here are still BEING tutored!!!! Walau...........................
