Adventures of KS in ShenZhen!
Not a lot more pictures... cos I left Taipei for HK on Day 5. The flight was relatively short, only 1 hour. So in the morning, we had breakfast at the hotel, and then the coach brought us to Chiang Kai Shek Airport, and we boarded the Cathay Pacific flight for HK!
Oh ya.. talking about Cathay Pacific.. walau it has overtaken SIA as the best airline in the world! And it is easy to see why... the service is top grade! And also, the HK Chek Lap Kok Airport has overtaken Changi as the top airport voted as well. SIGH Singaporeans can go cry in shame. The Hongkies took both our top airline and top airport awards away and we are still here, unaware of anything! No newspaper reported it I think.. walau when Changi and SIA got that award, newspaper headlines leh. Now lose alreadie, diam diam. Very smart.
Anyway, in HK, we first went to their shopping district 铜锣湾 on the first day. Not a lot of pictures to take in HK, except I first wanted to take one of this Lambo Diablo but the car-guard of that car stopped me.
Next day, we went to Shenzhen via train! U can take a train from any of the stations in HK to the final station at Lo Wu, which is alreadie at the customs between HK and Shenzhen. But remember to bring your passports along.
This is the Shenzhen skyline.. China is very prettie now! No longer the obiang China we think of many years ago. The toilets have doors alreadie!
That's the newly built Shenzhen metro. Very prettie rite?!
Oh a lot of people will tell u to shop at Lo Wu, but that is no good. Lo Wu is this tourist shopping area, and the shopkeepers there are out to kill with their prices. Go this place called 東門 to shop! That's like the Orchard of Shenzhen.
Take a cab from the customs to 東門. Cabfares are really cheap in Shenzhen. But you gotta beat those locals at getting a cab first. They dont care about no cab queues, they just jump the queue and go straight to get the cab, while dumb foreigners stare on in shock. So to survive, you must learn to be like them.. do it their way. Or you would never get a cab!
Anyway, at 東門, the stuff are seriously dirt cheap. Seriously. Even in those high end shopping centres, the things are so damn cheap! So finally, we were all so tired from all that shopping, we decided to go for a relaxing massage!
First we went to this place.
Check out the prices! Like, S$6 for a full body massage for one hour?! That's how cheap! Manicure for S$2?! OMG faint!
In the end though, cos this place was too crowded with HK people who were obviously here for the same cheap massage as us, we shifted to this other massage parlour. Both are high end ones. The other one charged a bit more.. S$8 for a full body massage for one hour. But inclusive of a drink and a ride back to the customs to get back to HK!
Anyway the massage ladies, erm.. actually more like Obasans.. hahahaha they kept talking to us! And walau.. they told us they felt the Singaporean Mandarin accent was very nice. NICE?! Where got la! So rojak! I dunno man.. hahahaha. But they were sincerely very nice. Very friendly people.
My brother oso got his hair streaked there. For like, S$8?! WALAU that's damn cheap la! I wanted to do it too.. but cos I have long hair, we got not enough time. Anyway those who are interested to go there for massage rite, the entire shopping centre is filled with those unorthodox ones who charge quite cheap.. but then conditions were quite lousy. Just look at their rundown facilities. Yucks! Go to those huge ones. Those who have made a name over there. The higher end ones. That kind more trustworthy.
So we went back to HK! WAH very tired alreadie leh.. my mum still very on.. she say.. let's go 女人街! OMG I was alreadie nursing a headache from
But since it was the last night we were gonna spend in HK, aiya let her win la. I gobbled down 2 panadol actifast, and then recharged, took 女人街 by storm! Last bout of intensive shopping.. burn all my Hk dollar! YAY I returned to Singapore a happy girl!
